Thursday arvo.... and the kettle is on!!

Hi folks.

I just got back from the bus run.... did the usual quick dash past the coffee machine (flicking on the switch at high speed).... another flick of the switches at the computer, TV and heater on the way through the quilting room.... then the totally urgent and unavoidable pit stop at the loo!!! Bouncing about in the old bus plays havoc with my ageing bladder at the best of times, let alone on miserable rainy days!! (just thought I would "share" hehehe!). Then at long last, I unlocked the huge security doors and let the killer guard dog in to dribble and drool all over the carpet and my feet! Bloody dog stinks to high hell in this weather. I have burnt so much incense to cover the stink that the fire brigade has threatened to charge me with being a fire bug!!

Kecky was in today... bustling about and looking after my well being as she usually does on a Thursday. She has been in the wars and has a fair bit of bark off her here and there and the odd bruise or two. She swears it was the beloved dog that accidently scratched her, chewed her, pushed her, bit her and generally banged her around (just because he loves her!!!).... but I dunno.... she looks banged about enough to have a new boyfriend on the scene!!!

It was her birthday yesterday and she kept it a secret from everyone so I was on a mission today to tell everyone that came into the shop!! Revenge is deadly though..... she stabbed me a couple of times when she got the chance to slip one in!

It is still miserable and rainy and I am so over the rain and the mud and impassable bloody road to home and the mother in law's. Give me the drought any time! They all blame me for the rain because Sunday was gloriously sunny and warm and I had a moment with myself and actually WASHED THE CAR!!! all by myself!!! I was so proud..... saturated and filthy dirty but still proud! Even The Boy caught me out being busy with the hose but he just laughed at my efforts and took off home to get his washing done and as far away from me as possible. He did mention that my habit of being sooooo slow washing the car and leaving the hose spurting away on the ground was flooding the street and breaking more environmental laws than he cared to mention.... so he tied the hose in a knot and left me to it!

The Cook was here for the morning as well.... and after much whinging and bitching finally agreed to draw pretty little heart templates and even cut them out for me!! Isn't she lovely!! But I reckon she will get even with me pretty soon!

The Cook has been keeping me busy cutting fat quarters for the quilting shelf and I must admit she is a dab hand at speed folding and filling cute little boxes of fat little quarters for the customers to dig through.

Even a couple of the crafters have returned to see what's happening now. Kaylene has been busily knitting blocks for a fluffy rug and I actually managed to sew a few of them together for her.... She is also working on a scrap book Anniversary card for her mum and dad. Carmel wandered back in also after months of working and family stuff..... maybe she will come back again next week. I still have to clean the front desk off and have a go at the new embroidery machine (that I haven't paid for yet!!).

Better go... the kettle is boiling and the dog is farting so it's time to rip off the tight bra, put on the slippers and have a coffee and a Nana Nap before I get back into the books for the long night.

bye all.
